v4l-utils and libv4l 0.8.1

Freshmeat - 10 hours 29 min ago
v4l-utils is a collection of various video4linux (V4L) and DVB utilities. libv4l is an accompanying collection of libraries that adds a thin abstraction layer on top of video4linux2 (V4L2) devices. The purpose of this layer is to make it easy for application writers to support a wide variety of devices without having to write separate code for different devices in the same class. It consists of 3 different libraries. libv4lconvert offers functions to convert from any (known) pixel format to V4l2_PIX_FMT_BGR24 or V4l2_PIX_FMT_YUV420. libv4l1 offers the (deprecated) v4l1 API on top of v4l2 devices, independent of the drivers for those devices supporting v4l1 compatibility (which many v4l2 drivers do not). libv4l2 offers the v4l2 API on top of v4l2 devices, while adding support for the application transparent libv4lconvert conversion where necessary.

Changes: Many more laptop models were added to the upside down devices table. Short frames are now detected, and up to three retries are initiated to get a non short frame. UVC cameras with more than 16 frame sizes are now properly supported. Support for the Xirlink C-It YYVYUY format and for the Konica YUV420 format were added. In the tools, various v4l-keytable improvements and various qv4l2 fixes were made, and v4l2-ctl gained support for s/g_dv_timings.

Vendetta Online 1.8.143

Freshmeat - 21 hours 12 min ago
Vendetta Online is a multi-platform 3D space-combat MMO for Windows, Mac, Linux/32 and Linux/64. The game permits players to interact in a vast online galaxy; fighting, trading, and mining their way to success. A "twitch" type real-time combat model makes true player skill the deciding factor instead of character advancement. Massive capital-ship battles shake the foundations of the major nations at war, while others struggle to push back the encroachment of the AI "Hives". A no-strings free trial is available.

Changes: Mission postings are sanity checked, hopefully preventing any cases of non-functional Hive Skirmish missions. A shader error was fixed in the Android version. A bug with being unable to sell Synthetic Silksteel at stations has been fixed. The Windows version is better optimized due to the use of a newer C++ compiler.

uxdstools 0.6

Freshmeat - 22 hours 45 min ago
uxdstools is a set of Unix directory service tools. It is a suite of command tools to administer POSIX user and group accounts in an LDAP directory. It is similar in spirit to the useradd/mod/del tools found on Linux and Solaris, the pw tools on BSD, the mk|ch|rmuser/group tools on AIX, etc. However, instead of manipulating local accounts, uxdstools manages POSIX-type accounts that can be found in LDAP directory services installations, namely those with posixAccount and posixGroup attributes.

Changes: The directory structure of the package was reorganized to a more sane hierarchy (with src and man as separate directories) for better future planning. Makefile.am and configure.in were updated to reflect this. Minor variable scope changes were made in sudoldap.c. authz_sasl_interact was renamed to uxds_sasl_interact, due to the need to have a uniform naming convention.
